Carlton Cellars - the soul of a premium wine

When Carlton Cellars went from making a single wine (the highly-acclaimed Roads End Oregon Pinot Noir) to building their own winery, tripling their wine list and launching a Connoisseurs Club, suddenly increased identity and branding pressures demanded the professional touch.

Premium wine is a rarefied niche. The winemakers needed a creative team who would delve into the heart of the matter to understand the wines, the market, and the unique personality of Carlton Cellars.

Since 2007 Helsinqi has been Carlton Cellars' outboard creative department. Working closely with the client, our work includes:

  • New visual identity for Carlton Cellars, rolling out in ongoing collateral and communications applications.
  • A brand line to extend the existing Roads End brand. Our work runs the gamut from concept to historical research and scouting (for the wines' Oregon Coast theme) to final design and production.
  • Communications initiatives including design/development of a brand new website, e-news campaigns, and launching the Carlton Cellars Connoisseurs Club.
  • Promotion and advertising strategy and design.

To really understand our client's business, we became serious wine students. Directors Leo & Anna Daedalus got their WSET Intermediate Certificates in 2007 at Portland's Wine & Spirit Archive. Now they're in the midst of the Advanced course.

The UK-based WSET program is the gold standard of professional wine education. Do we need that kind of depth in our line of work? The way we, and our clients, see it — absolutely.

Check out our handiwork on Carlton Cellars' website. Then ask Dave & Robin personally how they like working with us. If you're lucky, they'll pour you a glass of Roads End.

And Much Much More - (despite the evidence to the contrary)

Hey, we're still a new and undiscovered agency, paying our dues. We're working hard on more outstanding work for more great clients, all to launch this summer. Stay tuned.

Meantime, get in touch. Despite the construction work, we are open for business.
